SSL is the Company's Insurance

No comments:
Ever wonder why a lot of people keep on buying insurances? Insure a house, a life, a material possession, and the list goes on. The inflated rate is brought by the growing number of people who want to secure their possessions before they’re gone, and/or the increasing need to put up investments which may secure them from the negative global economic recession.

Just like all insurances, you buy the policy for future purposes – be it for your child, other dependents, or maybe just your investment to gain cash given a period of time. Whatever your reason, bottom line is, buying these insurances is for protection and assurance that whatever happens in this unpredicted life, at least you were ready.

People insure everything. Even mobile phones and laptops get to be insured. More often than not, people insure tangible things, but as identity fraud, data breaches, and document alteration continuously increase in a rapid rate, won’t websites and other online housed data be worth an insurance too? Problem is, putting this into practice is not as easy as ABC as people will always think they are invulnerable to such attacks until they become victims themselves. They always have this impression that because they are not big names in the society or that since they are part of the SMEs, they will be attack-free. This is where they're wrong, cybercriminals find these firms and take advantage of them.

How you see your data is not how cyber criminals see them. To these people, your data, no matter how small, is still information which may help them make money. This is a very lucrative kind of business as the operation has global scope. When security is at stake, there is no better time to safeguard yourself and learn the best practices to keep safe but now. As internet is penetrating regions in a very fast pace, it may be harder to believe that we can ever eliminate cybercrimes. But as they say, if you can't get rid of it at least prevent it.

China and India being the next big thing!

No comments:
“Many foreign have long recognized the potential China and India present, based on the size of the market and predicted growth in e-commerce” -Paul Jung, Visa – Head of e-commerce solutions for APAC

Foreign investors plan to breakthrough the e-commerce walls of China and India but penetrating the local market surfaces as a major challenge. Being a company decision maker, you will have to study the market very eagerly, their behavior in consuming products: how they buy – either through cash or credit card, when they buy – be it holidays, weekends, or every cut-off of salary, and where they buy – do they a lot time to go to the mall or are the consumers way too busy and shop online instead?

Entering a new market is a risk every business has to face. But these risks are calculated risks, meaning the risk of failing has been minimized thru an extensive study and research. However, according to Kumar Das, IDC Center for Consultancy and Research – research manager of retail insights for APAC, said that markets in both countries still lack the technological and logistic infrastructure for e-commerce.

Just like in any other country, people from rural areas find it hard to have an access to internet connection. And with this, people find it hard to trust e-commerce, due to the obvious reason – security. Everyone is pretty careful when it comes to purchasing online, who else to blame when cybercriminals are also part of that next big thing.

It will be difficult though for foreign investors to analyze the market as they need to segment locals based on their behavior. Shift strategies per capita including pricing, marketing, purchasing, branding and promoting. One of which is to enter partnership with local businesses. This helps them gain people’s trust more easily.

GlobalSign, being one of the world's largest SSL and client certificate provider, has solutions your company needs for it to get online shoppers trust your website and shop without hesitation. GlobalSign offers a wide range of trust services and products. It offers SSL certificates secured by the highest encryption level available to date, 2048-bit encryption. Double the benefits with Cloud and CloudSSL

No comments:

Why go Cloud even if it is not the ultimate solution?

We all know that Cloud is a service model in which data is stored and backed up remotely and made available to users over a network (which in this case, the Internet). But how helpful can it get when fortuitous events take over?

Tsunami in Japan, Ondoy in the Philippines, and Sandy in the United States of America are few of the calamities which have greatly affected business operations. Many companies lost physical and on premise hard wares where they store database and sensitive corporate information. This leaves enterprises with nothing but hopes that damaged devices work again.

This is not anymore the usual case today. Companies can get rid of the dilemma of disaster recovery through a relatively simple solution– migrating to the cloud. Adopting the Cloud can unquestionably help business continuity. How? Cloud protects data by nature of its design as data are stored off-premise on a cloud of inter-connected data centers. This way there is better assurance that data remains untouched.

But of course in every pro there's got to be a con. Running your entire business under Cloud is not advisable mainly because companies handling the Cloud storage also have physical presence and because of this, they are not disaster proof. Moreover, what seems to be a bigger issue is that Cloud, just like any other hosting services, is prone to cybercriminals.

With the vision of developing secure and cost-effective technologies, GlobalSign came up with a solution that will allow users to confidently migrate to the Cloud without worries of being compromised nor lost - CloudSSL. Since in Cloud, information is repeatedly stored on data centers in many locations, you will always be able to retrieve data should anything go wrong.

GlobalSign’s CloudSSL is an SSL distribution service available via API and is designed specifically to help web services operate securely in the Cloud. It removes the restrictions of traditional SSL, such as one Certificate per IP address, and can be used across large virtualized environments without incurring additional license fees. CloudSSL partners make on-demand requests for SSL Certificates, including request for their customer base all within the top level Certificate issued to the Cloud partner. All the time meeting the highest security associated with the GlobalSign SSL brand.
